The distinctive curved shape of the base means that it can be driven over without sustaining damage, whilst significantly reducing any potential trip hazards that other designs may incur. It also features convenient carry handles for easy lifting and deployment of the unit.

The fitted belt brake ensures slow, safe belt retraction with no snapback. A simple locking tab on the end of the belt also ensures it is not accidentally detached.
