- The large food waste unit is constructed from 2mm galvanised steel and is ideal for use in communal areas as it gives people a designated bin to dispose of their food waste.The unit features a rod hinged front opening door with slam lock. Slam lock is a stainless steel lock which is easily opened with a square T key and closes with a push of the door against a spring loaded boss.The door has full 90 degrees opening and makes the removal and emptying of the liners much more efficient. The hinge system is a full length pivoted steel rod and is very reliable even after thousands of openings. The lid is slanted to allow rain water to run off and a lift up flap with stainless steel handle is fitted to help contain any unwanted odours. An optional soft closing lid is available. This is designed for use indoors and features a rotary dampener to allow the flap to close softly and quietly.The unit is available in either black, nickel silver or green with an optional food waste vinyl sticker available. The vinyl sticker is placed on the front of the bin and clearly indicates the waste stream being collected in the bin. It also allows the waste stream to be seen from afar.
