Ecotile ESD interlocking floor tiles have been specially designed for use in static sensitive areas such as electronics factories and computer server rooms, where anyone working in these environments are more susceptible to shocks and their associated dangers. Ecotile ESD protect against these dangers by ‘earthing’ the area and causing any electrostatic charge to be directed into the ground instead.
Ecotile ESD interlocking floor tiles are compliant with BS EN 61340-5-1:2001 and IEC 61340. The conductive properties of Ecotile ESD floors will last for the lifetime of the tile and if grounded in accordance with our instructions and maintained properly, the tiles will create a safe conductive floor surface that can be used as your primary ground.
Key Features and Benefits
- BS EN 61340-5-1 and IEC 61340 compliant
- Made in the UK
- Life time guarantee of ESD performance
- Easy to install
- Environmentally sustainable
- Durable and hardwearing
- Easy to clean
- Minimal preparation required
- 10 year warranty
Interlocking floor tiles are a tough, flexible and modern flooring solution. The product can usually be installed without the requirement for a damp proof membrane, screed or adhesive, significantly reducing installation time and cost. The tiles can be dry laid over any hard surface including uneven, damp or contaminated substrates with minimal preparation, ensuring they are very quick and easy to install.
Each tile has a size of 500mm x 500mm with a thickness of 7mm and weight of 9kgs/m2. The conductivity is the result of millions of tiny stainless fibres that are dispersed right the way through each tile so it never wears away. This method ensures that the fibres are evenly distributed through each tile guaranteeing the permanent ESD performance of the tile. The product comes with a manufacturer’s warranty of 10 years.
Please be aware that the stainless steel fibres may be visible on the surface of the tile. This is unavoidable and a fundamental part of the manufacturing process that ensures optimum ESD performance
Key Applications and industry sectors
- Electronics and telecommunications factories
- Electronics assembly area
- Computer server rooms
- Production plants
- Food production facilities
- General offices
- Industrial environments
- Warehouses
- Car garages
- Workshops
NOTE: The stainless steel fibres in the ESD tiles affect the shrinkage rate of the PVC. This means they are slightly larger than the standard tiles and so the joints will not connect. Please call us for advice on the best way to link ESD and standard tiles.
