The freestanding Boss Barrier is fitted with 360° swivel feet to ensure stability on flat and uneven surfaces. Its robust and durable construction makes it suitable for controlling crowds at busy events such as marathons, festivals and demonstrations.
Made from virgin HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) which is 100% recyclable, this product has no sharp edges and is free from screws and rivets to reduce the risk of injury in high footfall applications. As well as being better for the environment, the material has no scrap value, therefore making the barrier less desirable to scrap metal thieves.
The simple barrier to barrier connection allows you to create your desired length with ease. As the barrier can be laid completely flat, it can be easily stacked for compact storage and cost-effective shipping through the pallet network.
An information sign can be attached to the barrier to alert pedestrians of hazards and exhibit safety guidance.
Please Note: This barrier is not designed to be used on road works as it does not have a reflective strip along the top.
Wind Resistance
All temporary traffic barriers must be able to withstand three different classes of wind speeds with the use of a ballast. The standard BS 8442:2015 states the three classes as the following:
Class A: 26.3 m/s (58mph)
Class B: 17.6m/s (39mph)
Class C: 8.7m/s (19mph)The Boss Barrier system was tested under strict conditions at the Full Scale Wind Tunnel at Mira to determine at which wind speeds the barrier can withstand. Please see the download titled 'Boss Barrier - Wind Resistance' for the results and guides as to the recommended ballast weight for each Wind Class.
