Pillow tanks are robust, lightweight and specifically designed water storage tanks ideal for storing water in rugged environments.
Our pillow and bladder tanks have been designed to meet the needs of field operatives, giving careful thought to how the tank will be transported and used. The main advantages of using Pillow Tanks are that they keep water clean, are lightweight to transport, quick to install and easy to relocate.
Food grade material is used for construction, as specified by Oxfam and UNICEF. The material is UV resistant and designed for use with chlorine making it ideal for use in hot climates where water disinfection is essential for health protection.
Features
- UV resistant and designed for use with chlorine
- Light-blocking inner black layer to inhibit algae growth
- Corner reinforcements to maximise durability
- 2x 2” PVC threaded inlet/outlet ports
- Quick to deploy
- Can be relocated
Pillow Tanks are fitted with an over-pressure relief valve (grey) and inspection/sampling port with threaded lid (red). The over-pressure relief valve avoids damage to the tank through over-filling with water. The red, lidded port can be used for dosing disinfection chemicals, or inspection.
Corner reinforcements on each Pillow Tank ensure that the water tank does not leak, fixing the end of the high- frequency weld securely. Our pillow tanks are welded to a high standard, with thorough quality tests being part of standard manufacturing process.
Installation
The tank should be set up on a raised area (either higher ground or a constructed platform) to allow gravity flow. All pillow tanks are supplied with an essential groundsheet, which is designed to be installed underneath the tank for protection.
